About the service

This free money education service supports Barking and Dagenham residents to build financial confidence, resilience and long-term stability through accessible, community-based learning and early intervention. 

Designed to prevent hardship before it escalates into problem debt, the service helps B&D residents to understand their financial rights, entitlements, and safe money behaviours, while offering trusted local support that is personalised and responsive to residents at different life stages and levels of financial vulnerability.

To be eligible for this service, you will need to be:

  • A Barking and Dagenham resident
  • Over the age of 18

This service will deliver community-based education and will focus on the relevant finanical topics:

  • Early identification of financial risk
  • Building money confidence
  • Financial education
  • Budgeting skills
  • Financial resilience
  • Community outreach and engagement
  • Referral into specialist services when required
