Digital skills are increasingly invaluable, and our DfE Skills Bootcamp in Digital Marketing course is one of our success stories. Funded by the Department for Education (DfE), the programme provides an in-depth insight into the worlds of digital marketing and employability skills training.
At the end of this free 12-week programme, learners receive a guaranteed interview and a potential job offer, enabling them to put their new skills to the test in the real world! This training is available to those living within the West Midlands, London and North West regions, and open to those at all stages of their digital journey - there is no prior knowledge required. "These past couple of weeks have marked a new chapter in my career. After jumping from role to role over the past few years and going through pretty much every emotion I could think of, I've finally started a new role as a Junior Web Developer at Tao Digital Marketing, and I couldn’t be any happier! This is the job I’ve wanted to do for a long time but never had the guts and opportunity to take the plunge and start a completely different career path.
Back in November 2019 I found myself with lots of free time, looking for roles that matched my previous experience and honestly, I was dreading the thought of having to go through the same emotions that I had been through in past roles.
I was browsing through a few websites and happened to come across a 3-month Digital Marketing Course from We Are Digital. I read through the description and immediately had a lightbulb moment - the moment I realised that this could be the start of what I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
I sat down and discussed the course with my partner. We talked through everything from the doors this could open for me, through to the risks of running a house on one income. We knew it was going to be tough, but we decided that it was time for change, a change that would be beneficial not just for the both of us but for my mental health as well.
Fast forward to 6 weeks into the course and the UK lockdown hit. I was fearful that the course I was enjoying so much would be put on hold or worst-case scenario, cancelled. But the team at We Are Digital worked extremely hard to continue the course remotely, ensuring that everyone had a device and internet connection so that they could join the virtual classroom. Six weeks later the group successfully completed the course and we all started to look for careers in our new industry.
This brings us to the present day; I’ve been part of the Tao Digital team for two weeks now and I’m eager to continue to expand my knowledge in what I consider to be my dream job. I would like to thank Emma Gray, Azar Norman, Catherine, Luvleen, and all the team at We Are Digital for the support and making the learning experience so enjoyable.
