If you or someone you know does not have access to the internet or does not feel confident using it, we can support you with completing an appeal.

Who is the service for?

You may be eligible to use this free service if you:

  • Don't have regular access to a device or the internet

  • Don't feel confident completing online forms 

You can appeal about:

  • A decision to refuse an EHC plan, cease to maintain a plan, or disagree with parts of an existing plan (Sections B, F or I)

  • A decision made by a local authority not to secure an EHC needs assessment or re-assessment

Making an appeal:

To make an appeal, you will need:

  • The local authority's decision letter giving the right of appeal

  • The final EHC plan (if applicable)

  • The mediation certificate (if required)

You are able to complete an appeal form if you are: 
  • A parent 

  • Someone who has parental responsibility or cares for a child 

  • A young person who is over compulsory school age and under 25 years old
